'GTA V' DLC release date, rumors: Expansions planned to release in 2017 and 2018
Though "Grand Theft Auto V" ("GTA V") has been out for a while, Rockstar Games is still putting out expansions and downloadable content (DLCs) here and there. Rumor has it that the developers are working on adding two more maps to the game, and these will cost just as much as the original game.
According to reports, the expansions will be called the "North Yankton and Liberty City" DLC and these will be released come September 2017. The expansions are said to bring the players into the stock market where they can embezzle funds and hang out with city slickers.
The DLC coming out in 2018 is said to be called the "San Fierro and Las Ventures." Interestingly enough, this expansion is said to have been in the works back in the early development stages of "GTA V," but the required specs couldn't match up to the PS3 and Xbox 360, so the developers decided to scrap it.
Now with the incoming Playstation 4 Pro and the Xbox Project Scorpio, which boasts to be more powerful consoles than its predecessors, the developers at Rockstar decided to revisit "San Fierro."
Though some gamers have been clamoring for "Grand Theft Auto VI" for awhile, it looks like Rockstar has a lot planned for the current "GTA" game that's out right now. Rumor has it that the developers have content planned all the way up to 2020, so fans better not expect any sequel soon.
Not to mention, Rockstar is currently working on a sequel to their Wild West shoot-em-up franchise, "Red Dead Redemption 2." This series is famously known for being "GTA" set in the Wild West. Players control John Marsten as he rides horses, rustles cattle, shoots bad guys and gambles with townfolk.
The "San Fierro and Las Ventures" DLC is said to come out in September 2017. Stay tuned for more updates.
