'Half-Life 3' news: Valve and HTC working together for virtual reality game?
Valve Corporation is still quiet about the future of "Half-Life 3" because until now there is no information yet on whether the company will be releasing it or not.
Some of the fans have already given up on waiting but there are still some who are hopeful that the third installment of the first-person shooter video game will come to reality. According to rumors, the new game could be virtual reality-compatible.
It all started when a leaked file in "Dota 2" surfaced and came with some lines of code that pertain to "HLVR." There is no word on what its meaning really is but it's speculated to be "Half-Life" VR. But since there is no further information about it, fans can only hope that the leaked pieces of code are hints from the gaming company.
It's not far from possible that Valve is developing a "Half-Life" VR game because the gaming company is reported to be in a partnership with HTC for the new VR headset. But HTC chairwoman Cher Wang clarified that Valve and HTC are working together on developing next-generation virtual reality experiences for gaming. She did not specify any game title though.
Fans have also been asking if the game is even in development right now. Some sources claim that "Half-Life 3" is already in the works. However, there are some who insisted that the game isn't in development yet. Fans are just crossing their fingers now that the game will make it to its speculated date of release.
Reports suggested that the game could be out either in 2017 or in 2018. If this is the case, avid fans will have to wait more for the third title.
There's also a big chance that it will be launched in 2018 because Valve will celebrate its 20th anniversary. The event will be the perfect platform to introduce "Half-Life 3."
