'Halo' 15th-anniversary celebration livestream recap: New free DLCs confirmed by Microsoft; 'Halo 6' on the horizon?
"Halo" is celebrating its 15 years of existence by releasing a trailer just for the occasion. A livestream event also happened a while ago, in which Microsoft announced that free downloadable contents (DLCs) will be given away.
The celebration of "Halo's" 15th anniversary is laced with great surprises as players will be able to get "Halo 5: Guardians" and "Forza Horizon 3" for free.
Those who want to the "Halo 5" free DLC would just log into their own "Halo 5" account starting today until Nov. 22. Aside from the free gameplay, they are also receiving bonus items such as four SPNKRs, Mark IV gear, four "Halo 2" Beam Rifles and four CE Magnums.
Players can take part of the celebration by participating in the "Anniversary Throwback" playlist, which allows players to experience a community-created Forge restorations of six maps from "Halo: Combat Evolved."
To add more to the fun, Microsoft rolls out some iOS sticker for the "Halo" sticker pack, which includes one inspired by the popular "Halo" skull. Furthermore, a 15 percent discount off of everything "Halo" is offered on "Halo Gear Store," and will be shipped for free. This offer should be grabbed while it lasts since the sale ends on Nov. 30.
Those interested in the freebies from "Forza Horizons 3" should know that a free 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is going to be rolled out. The vehicle, as expected, comes with an Xbox anniversary theme. Players who already have the "Forza Horizon 3" VIP bundle can get a "bonus track" for free. It comes with the 15th-anniversary theme as an alternate look.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has just released a new tribute video to celebrate "Halo's" 15th birthday. The sci-fi shooter game came out for Xbox and it still is one of the most popular games in the gaming world.
In total, there are five installments of the "Halo" franchise. "Halo 6" is rumored to be in the works, but has not been confirmed yet.
