'Halo 5: Guardians' Release Date Fall 2015; Full Version to Have Different Feel

There is strong indication that "Halo 5: Guardians" will be released in August 2015 exclusive to Xbox One.

"Halo 5: Guardians" is an upcoming first-person shooter video game. Part of the Halo franchise, the game is being developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studios. The sequel to Halo 4, the game is scheduled for release in the Fall of 2015.

In "Halo 5: Guardian," war breaks out when colony worlds are unexpectedly attacked. Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 goes missing as a rogue officer, and Spartan Locke is tasked with hunting down the Master Chief and solving a mystery that threatens the entire galaxy.

A "Halo" television series will be produced by Steven Spielberg and it is set to air in 2015 along with the game's launch. During the 2014 E3 press conference, Microsoft revealed that "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" will be released with an exclusive pass to access Halo 5's multiplayer beta, which began on Dec. 29, 2014 all through Jan. 18, 2015.

Players who were able to access the beta version would have discovered that the full version of the game will have a different control scheme. Although it isn't a big change, it will have a slightly different feel than the beta. "It's changed dramatically from beta," said Studio Head for Halo 5: Guardian, Josh Holmes.

People who have played the beta version would have known that the game feels different from the older games. It feels faster and there are more abilities to be used.

In terms of marketing, a batch of new "Halo 5: Guardians" toys are being released. 343 Industries confirmed that the Mega Bloks line of toys may have story spoilers for "Halo 5: Guardians." Mega Blok brick toy sets included a well-represented Master Chief and Agent Locke.

The most compelling reason for an early release of "Halo 5: Guardians" in August, Xbox One sources said, is for the company to be a step ahead of the competition and to avoid a head-on clash with "Rise of the Tomb Raider," which is coming in the holiday season of 2015.
