'Halo Wars 2' release date: Second beta announced; PC, Xbox One included
Microsoft has announced the second beta for "Halo Wars 2" set next year for both the personal computer (PC) and Xbox One. The news comes almost a couple of months after the successful first beta conducted in June.
In a blog post on Xbox News, 343 Industries Studio Head of Strategy Games Dan Ayoub said that the feedback from the first beta paved way to a lot of improvements for the final game.
"Probably the biggest criticism we heard about the beta was issues with connectivity, de-synchs, etc. I'm happy to say that, thanks to you, we've already addressed these issues in the final game," he wrote.
Ayoub also mentioned several more changes in "Halo Wars 2" born out of the beta. These improvement include the unit tuning, game mode pacing and the user interface (UI).
Enhancements on the stability and flow in "Halo Wars 2" can be expected as well. But the focus on the overhauls was on the controls, leader abilities, bases, population and resources and energy, which Ayoub detailed on the post.
There are more changes to expect in "Halo Wars 2" as Microsoft and 343 Industries continue to make improvements on the highly-anticipated title.
"This is just a subset of the high-level changes we are making, based on all of your great feedback." Ayoub teased. "Plenty more surprises to come, but we wanted to, again, thank you for taking this journey with us," he continued.
"Halo Wars 2" will boast a lot more multiplayer modes as there were only two that were shown in the first beta. It is unknown if more will be seen in the second beta.
"The range of modes are intended to satisfy a number of play styles and appetites; we'll have modes that run from hours of play to modes you can play in as little as 5 minutes," Ayoub said.
"Halo Wars 2" will be playable in upcoming events like Gamescom and PAX West. More details about the game should be revealed soon.
