'Harry Potter GO' release date, latest news: Check out the game trailer on YouTube; Game already in the works?
After the success of "Pokémon GO," Niantic is now developing another augmented reality (AR) mobile game that will surely capture the hearts of gamers — the "Harry Potter GO." This time, the developer is reaching out to the millions of "Harry Potter" fans.
"Harry Potter" has gained a significant number of fans even if the movie and the book have already concluded. Niantic will revive the hype by developing "Harry Potter GO," which may seem to have an almost similar gameplay with "Pokémon GO."
Fans of "Harry Potter" have already witnessed the mobile game on YouTube and it has features that got the fans more excited. The trailer is reportedly just a mock-up so as to allow the fans to see what the mobile game will feature.
The fan-made trailer showed the famous Harry Potter, and the rest of the gang, navigating in the AR world where they collect cards, hunt beasts and even choose their own house like Slytherin, Gryffindor and others.
The news about "Harry Potter GO" might have sparked a certain hype as the fans' enthusiasm began to show. In fact, an online petition has reportedly been created in order to ask Niantic to develop the game already. And since it is termed as "GO," fans expect that it will be patterned with the worldwide hit mobile game, "Pokémon GO."
However, Niantic has yet to announce the anticipated game. This should remind the "Harry Potter" fans to take everything with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, another "Harry Potter" game is set to come out on Nov. 17. Titled as "Fantastic Beast: Cases from the Wizarding World," the game is said to be launched alongside "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
The game allows the players to visit different "Harry Potter" locations like Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and more. It also houses the players, just like what the book and the movie featured.
