'Homeland' Season 5 Premiere Date Spoilers: More Thrilling Episodes Ahead October 2015
It's still 10 months before "Homeland" airs again this October with 12 brand-new, thrilling episodes for its Season 5.
In Season 4 we saw Carrie (Caroline Anne Mathison) and Quinn (Rupert Friend) getting back together and then separating eventually, the death of Carrie's father, the revelation of Carrie's half-brother, and Haqqani's escape.
In Season 5, Quinn will be in Syria and Carrie will be left alone wanting to be with him. It is also expected that Carrie's half-brother will appear somewhere along the way.
As for the return of Haqqani, we all saw him get away in the finale of Season 4. Hence we are pretty sure that we will be seeing more of him in Season 5. It's unclear whether he'll still be the main antagonist in Season 5, but we're pretty sure he'll be back for an unfinished business.
Some fans were a little bit disappointed with last season's finale for being rather anti-climatic. In an interview with Variety, Showtime Network President David Nevins explained the reason behind the Season 4 finale. "What made this season so good was that it worked as an action show, but it went back to the world of real political complexity. The show's always best when it takes a complicated political story and wraps it in a complicated personal story," he said.
The finale was shown five days after Taliban gunmen mowed down 148 people, mostly children, in a school in Pakistan.
"The writers really spent valuable time (early on) figuring out what story they wanted to tell. They told the story of how difficult America's position in the world is in the 21st century. ... They really got at the complexity of the U.S. position in the Muslim world," he added.
