'How To Train Your Dragon 3' news, spoilers, and release date: Hiccup and Toothless—Is their friendship over?

After two successful installments of "How To Train Your Dragon," many are looking forward to another addition to the movie series.

Fans are excited to see Hiccup and Toothless in the big screens once again, as the new movie is said to challenge their relationship in a different way.

The previous films have shown the friendship of Hiccup and his dragon Toothless, winning the hearts of many fans. However, reports indicated that the upcoming installment could be presenting a conflict between the two of them.

Since the movies base their material on the novels, it is believed that the third installment will remain faithful to the source. If this is the case, fans will have to see Hiccup and Toothless saying goodbye to each other.

From the novel "How To Fight A Dragon Fury," many will see humans and dragons finally at peace with each other. However, since Hiccup's tribe found a way to domesticate the dragons, it showed that some tension will arise since dragon no longer have their own will.

Because of this, a war could be presented, which will show Hiccup and Toothless opposing each other. This will surely break the hearts of many fans since Hiccup and Toothless had such a loving friendship.

Director of the film Dean Deblois teased, "Both he and Toothless are now chiefs of their respective tribes, and it's a dueling story where you have both characters trying to do what's right for their kind, and an eventual outcome where Hiccup is able to stand on his own."

Meanwhile, there has yet to be any news on what exactly will go down in the upcoming installment. Many will just have to wait and see if they will end up ending their friendship in the new film.
