HTC Desire Eye Review of Specs, Features and Price: Top Phone For Selfie Lovers
Nov. 7 of this year was the announced launch date by AT&T for its HTC Desire Eye. The device has become more popularly known as the phone that's terrific for taking selfies because of its 13 megapixel front facing camera that also comes with its own dual-tone front-facing flash.
However, if a user is not a selfie fan and would prefer to take shots of other people, things, or places, the HTC Desire Eye would also be a good choice for a new smartphone because the rear camera also a 13-megapixel sensor.
The smartphone is exclusive for AT&T subscribers in the U.S.
Its notable features and specifications are: a 5.2-inch screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, a polycarbonate build, a 1080x1920 pixels resolution, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 2400mAh battery capacity.
The HTC Desire Eye runs on the Kitkat OS (Android 4.4.2).
There are two pricing avenues for getting the HTC Desire Eye. If the phone is bought without a user contract, its price is pegged at $549.99. However, if the user signs a two-year contract with AT&T, the smartphone is priced at $149.99.
AT&T's Next 18 plan is broken down as follows: no downpayment, then 18 monthly payments at $22.92 each. Meanwhile, on AT&T's Next 12 plan, the phone plan is as follows: no downpayment, then 12 monthly payments at $27.50 each.
In addition, HTC and AT&T have a special promotional offer to those who will buy the HTC Desire Eye. A $50 discount on the new HTC periscope-shaped action RE Camera can be availed of, with each HTC Desire Eye purchase. For those interested, remember that this promo will only run until Jan. 8, 2015.
