iMac 2016 release date, specs latest news: hardware update to come late in 2016?
Though Apple enthusiasts are expecting the new iPhone and Apple Watch to be announced later this month, many have been curious about Apple's release of an updated version of the iMac. Many are guessing that the device may find itself announced next year, but some have speculated that the device may arrive later in 2016, just in time for the holidays.
According to Bloomberg, the device will come out later this year, and Apple is currently preparing a revamped Mac product line. Along with the iMac 2016 is said to be a much thinner MacBook Air, a MacBook Pro, and a 5K standalone monitor that Apple is currently developing with the help of LG.
Numerous speculations say that the devices will come at the end of the year, and the best guess that many have is that they will arrive this coming October.
The new devices are said to run on Kaby Lake processors and they are said to have 5K resolution. The Kaby Lake processors include USB 3.1 support, Thunderbolt 3, and a much faster performance.
Some, however, think that the next iMac will come next year at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which will take place in June. Apple just released the latest version of the iMac last year, and seeing that Apple takes two years before announcing any updated version of a product, it would be likely that a new iMac will be coming in 2017. The latest model has 21.5-inch iteration and a 4K Retina display.
As of now, fans are excited for the announcement of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus this Sept. 7. They are expecting the new Apple Watch (dubbed the Apple Watch 2) to be announced as well. The Watch is said to feature a thinner display with a longer battery life.
The updated version of the iMac is rumored to arrive either late this year or June of next year.
