'Injustice 2' release date, characters news : More characters to be included in roster
The director of "Mortal Kombat X" and "Injustice 2," Ed Boon, has teased video game fans at the recently concluded Comic-Con in San Diego, California. Boon opened up the possibility of adding more characters and costumes for the upcoming second installment of the fighting video game, "Injustice."
The game director really caught some fans by surprise when he mentioned exciting DC superstars such as Zoom, which is the arch nemesis of the Flash, Red Hood, Beast Boy and the members of the Suicide Squad. Although Boon has not confirmed their addition to the new game, he revealed that there is a big possibility that these characters will be included for the entirety of the game and not just in one of its expansion.
Static Shock and the Batman Terry McGinnis might also be included in the next game as Boon did not rule out the possibility when he was questioned by a fan.
Most of the 30 characters that are included in the "Injustice 2" roster are quite popular amongst DC and video game fans. Boon also teased fans of more character revelation in the future. It is definitely good news for fans who have yet to see their favorite character in the lineup.
Boon mentioned that the sequel will also have a guest character. The original "Injustice" game featured Scorpion from the "Mortal Kombat" franchise as a guest character. Boon suggests that the success of Scorpion as the most downloadable character of the first "Injustice," made him want to feature another guest hero in the next game.
Although Boon has yet to reveal the guest character of the upcoming "Injustice 2," many fans and critics believe that the game director will pick another one from the "Mortal Kombat" series.
The highly anticipated "Injustice 2" is set to come out in 2017 on PS4, Xbox One, PC and mobile devices.
