'Injustice 2' release date news 2016: PS4, Xbox One versions to be released first quarter of 2017?
NetherRealm Studio has been quiet regarding the expected launching of the highly anticipated "Injustice" sequel next year. Although the game studio has revealed important details in the past few months regarding the new contents to be featured in "Injustice 2," it is still not clear when the game will arrive in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. However, the rumors are rife that the upcoming fighting video game will be up during the first quarter of 2017.
According to Yibada, there is a possibility that NetherRealm will release "Injustice 2" in PS4 and Xbox One in the early months of 2017. Supporting this is the recent report from the French gaming website Game Blog , stating that the sequel will be released in March 2017. To note, NetherRealm Studio has not yet disclosed an exact release date for "Injustice 2," but the company, including the "Injustice" game director Ed Boon, has constantly teased that the game will be arriving soon.
So far, the only confirmed characters included in the new roster of "Injustice 2" are of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Supergirl, Blue Beetle, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. Some characters like Harley Quinn and Deadshot are already featured in the first "Injustice" game title, but it will be their first time to become playable characters in the upcoming sequel.
On the other hand, more DC superheroes and villains are being rumored to be on the list. As reported by Game N Guide, Jonah Hex, Red Hood, John Constantine, Captain Cold, King Shark, and Dr. Manhattan are some of the names that might possibly make it to the sequel's roster. Aside from the new characters, the "Injustice" sequel is expected to feature a huge improvement on the battle settings. NetherRealm is reportedly planning to make the fight scenes in "Injustice 2" more realistic, showing more interaction between the fighters and their environment during an intense battle. The players may also utilize the objects in their surroundings like chairs and tables to inflict damage on their enemy.
Furthermore, "Injustice 2" will also introduce a new loot system in which the players can pick up the items dropped by their opponents after successfully defeating them. The players can loot weapons and armors from the fallen enemies and use them to further improve their characters' stats.
