iOS 10 jailbreak news, update: Luca Todesco working on iOS 10.2 jailbreak

In the continued efforts of the Italian developer Luca Todesco to build a stable iOS 10 jailbreak, he took to Twitter to reveal that he is actually working on a new fix.

His upcoming work on the iOS 10.1 jailbreak will finally add support to 10.2, but it comes with a caveat that he detailed in his social media.

"My fix for the issues in the 10.1 jailbreak will be to add support to 10.2. It will however not work on iPhone 7 on 10.2, just 10 and 10.1," he tweeted out.

It looks like the iOS 10.2 jailbreak tool he is cooking up will not be available for use to those who have the latest smartphones from Apple. This means that they will have to do with the iOS 10 and 10.1.1 Yalu jailbreak.

Whether or not support for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will arrive remains to be seen. Todesco is yet to give word if he plans to bring such or not.

Because of this, users who are currently on the iOS 10.2 are advised not to update to the software that Apple will roll out in the coming days. This is for them to be able to still make use of a jailbreak should one arrive.

Todesco's iOS 10 jailbreak was released a few weeks ago, but was marred with bugs, was semi-untethered and was altogether unstable. It was not advised for casual jailbreakers as it was made specifically for developers, whose skills should help them get around these issues.

Also, its semi-untethered nature required users to jailbreak their device every time it reboots. While some tried it out, others were hoping to get a more stable iOS 10 jailbreak software and did not want to risk moving from the iOS 9.3.3, which is the only way they can use an iOS 10 jailbreak should a working one arrive.
