iOS 10 jailbreak release date, latest update: iOS 10.2 jailbreak from Lucas Todesco to be released soon?
Famous hacker Lucas Todesco has been hard at work in catching up with Apple's speedy and successive iOS 10 updates to provide the jailbreaking community a reliable and working iOS jailbreak. He recently released a beta version of an iOS jailbreak for iOS 10.1 last December 2016. Now, the iOS hacker vows to release a jailbreak tool for the iOS 10.2 update soon.
The Italian hacker unveiled the beta jailbreak tool for iOS 10.1 only to a handful of iOS devices, such as the 10.1–10.1.1 iOS for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and the 10.0.1–10.1.1 iOS on the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, iPhone SE, as well as the iPad Pro. Hence, as reported by iDownloadBlog, this beta version of the jailbreak tool will be useless to a number of Apple devices.
As indicated by Yalu Jailbreak, Apple users are warned from trying out the beta version unless they are developers or advanced users who are very familiar with jailbreaking. Moreover, although the package manager mobile app for iOS, Cydia, is fully functional, the app is also unstable. Hence, newbies were advised to wait for a better iOS jailbreak.
Although the jailbreak community is patiently waiting for Todesco's iOS 10.2 jailbreak tool, it looks like he is not the only who is hard at work to release a tool for the current iOS 10.2.
As reported by Forbes last December, Stefan Esser, known for his previous contributions to the jailbreaking community, has stated on his Twitter account that an iOS 10.2 jailbreak is being developed by another team and is "about to hit soon."
There are already reports that Apple is already seeding the iOS 10.2.1 to both developers and public beta testers. If so, these jailbreak experts must work hard and fast in finishing their respective iOS jailbreak tools before the Cupertino-based company gets ahead of them with another operating system update which will make their jailbreaking tools obsolete.
There is no certainty when exactly Todesco or when another hacking team will be able to launch a fully-functional jailbreaking app for the iOS 10.2.
