It came as a surprise for most iPhone and iPad users as the China-based mobile hacking group, Pangu, recently released a fully functional iOS 9.3.4 jailbreak tool. The said jailbreak was released before the month of August ended, and many people did not expect that Pangu would come up with a working jailbreak tool for the iOS 9.3.4, given the issues reported on their iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak version. Regardless, the iOS 9.3.4 crack has been successful and many users downloaded the jailbreak right away. Unfortunately, Apple has something to counter Pangu's efforts, and that is through the release of the iOS 9.3.5 update.

According to Yibada, the recent release of the iOS 9.3.5 has again busted Pangu's efforts to develop a working jailbreak tool for the previous iOS version. This is similar to what happened when Pangu released the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak tool, whereas Apple released the iOS 9.3.4 update within a few days. This time around, when the Apple users download the latest iOS update, their downloaded iOS jailbreak tool will now be rendered useless.

iPhone and iPad users may opt not to upgrade the version of their iOS. For those who have already acquired the iOS 9.3.5 update, they can use other mobile software such as the Cydia Eraser to downgrade their iOS version back to iOS 9.3.4. Afterward, they can proceed with downloading Pangu's iOS 9.3.4 jailbreak tool again.

Apple thwarting Pangu's efforts for the iOS 9.3.4 jailbreak may not be intentional, as the company is merely fixing the security flaws reported by some people.

According to the New York Times, a group known as NSO took advantage of the security flaws of the iOS 9.3.4, allowing them to read text messages and e-mails, and even track other people with their Apple devices. This issue was first raised by the researchers at the Citizen Lab at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Lookout. Apple has since worked on this issue and incorporated the changes to the latest iOS 9.3.5. Unintentionally, this also busted the customization features included in the iOS 9.3.4 jailbreak tool by Pangu.

As for now, Pangu is not expected to develop a new jailbreak for the iOS 9.3.5. Instead, they may go directly to the iOS 10 jailbreak as the latest iOS full version is set to arrive on Sept. 7.
