iPad Air 3 release date, news, specs rumors: New iPad Air model to be revealed on Oct. 27? Apple may cease production of iPad Air soon
It has been two years since the current iPad Air 2 model was released by Apple. Many tech enthusiasts believe that it is high time for the Cupertino-based tech company to refresh the said iPad brand. If the latest reports are correct, the much awaited iPad Air 3 will be released very soon, with a possibility of being unveiled at the upcoming Apple Event this October.
Rumors about the upcoming iPad Air 3 started when the top retailer companies gave huge discounts of up to $250 for the 128 GB iPad Air 2. This lead some people to believe that Apple may already be clearing the current shelf to make way for the newer iPad Air 3 models. However, Mac World UK reported that the price cut may not be enough reason to push for a model revamp this year. Nevertheless, the possibility is real that the iPad Air refresh will happen very soon.
According to Mobile N Apps, it is possible that the iPad Air 3 will be among the highlights of the upcoming Apple Event on Oct. 27. Apple has not yet confirmed this rumor, however, as many believe that the event will focus on the latest Macbook models.
According to the University Herald, the iPad Air 3 may sport a 7000 series aluminum body, similar to the iPhone 6S. As for the core specifications of the device, the new iPad Air model may use either the A9 or the new A9X chipset. Its back camera is expected to have a flash while its front cam will receive the Retina Flash, just like in the 9.7-inch iPad Pro variant.
There are doubts whether Apple will continue the iPad Air series, and it is even rumored that the company has already ceased the production of the iPad Air with the release of the smaller iPad Pro model earlier this year, IT Pro reported. However, there is still hope that the public can still see the iPad Air 3 before all is said and done, and it would be best to wait for Apple's official announcement instead of relying on initial rumors.
