iPad Mini 5 release date, specs rumors: Apple bringing out device in March 2017

Despite the latest rumors about Apple's iPad Mini series, the tech giant has yet to reveal their plans for the tablet line. For months, Apple junkies have been talking about the iPad Mini 5, but the company has kept mum about it. But if the rumors are true, the device will launch in March 2017.

Since the Cupertino-based tech company hasn't expressed any updates for the tablet, some tech enthusiasts are suggesting that the series could be discontinued. On the other hand, recent reports suggest that viewers might just have to wait until March next year.

According to PC Advisor, Apple might reveal the latest installment in the series at their event in March 2017. The news outlet notes that the tablet will be launched alongside the latest unit of the iPad Pro 2. Furthermore, the publication suggests that Apple will refresh the tablet series, naming the unit the iPad Pro Mini.

If the tablet launches next year, it is expected to have an A9 processor as well as an M9 motion coprocessor. The device might come with an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.2-megapixel front camera. It will reportedly utilize a 7.9-inch Retina IPS display, which will have integrated 3D Touch. To add, the device will sport an aluminum chassis that will make the iPad more durable than its preceding unit.

Furthermore, reports say that the iPad will be available in three storage variants. The tablet will start at 32 GB, and it will be available in larger storage capacity options, a 64 GB unit and a 128 GB unit. Like the latest update for the iPhone series, the Mini is expected to lose the standard 3.5-mm headphone jack. The latest installment will also boast the latest iOS 10 when it launches.

Again, Apple has yet to confirm the latest speculations; hence, there are various reports circulating. Some publications believe that the iPad Mini installment will not be launched next year. In a report by Yibada, the news outlet suggested the tablet could be unveiled in March or Sept. 2018.
