iPhone 6 vs Galaxy A7 Specs Review: Features, Price Comparison - Premium Devices That Are Look-Alikes
If there is one phone that can claim to be thinner than the iPhone 6, it is the upcoming Galaxy A7 from Samsung. The latter also has a premium metal body much like its competitor from Apple.
Design
Samsung aimed to seize the premium billing enjoyed by iPhone 6 with the Galaxy A7. The device has great style and a body that is only 6.3 mm thick compared to the 6.9 mm thickness of its competitor. Both phones also have a metal unibody and look very much alike. But the iPhone 6 has beautifully rounded edges which are missing on the Galaxy A7.
Display
The Galaxy A7 has a 5.5-inch super AMOLED screen with a resolution of1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401pixels per inch. Compared to this, the iPhone 6 has a smaller 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels with a much lower density of 326 pixels per inch.
Platform
The iPhone 6 comes with the iOS 8 operating system, Apple A8 chipset, dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU and PowerVR GX6450 GPU. The Galaxy A7 runs the Android KitKat operating system and comes in two versions. Its dual SIM model has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, a quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 and quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and Adreno 405 GPU. The single SIM model has an Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset, quad-core 1.8 Cortex-A15 GHz and quad-core 1.3 Cortex-A7 GHz CPU and Mali-T628 MP6 GPU.
Memory
The iPhone 6 does not have a memory slot and comes with 1 GB of RAM, while the Galaxy A7 has a memory slot which can be used to add external storage of up to 64 GB and 2 GB of RAM.
Camera
The Galaxy A7 has a 12 megapixel main camera while the iPhone has an 8 megapixel camera at its rear.
Price
It is expected that the Galaxy A7 will be priced at $410 when it is released, while the iPhone 6 is priced at $199 with a two-year contract and costs $649 without one.
