With September just a few months away, tech sites are swirling with rumors on when will Apple unveil its next smartphone, which may be called iPhone 7.

According to Macworld UK, Apple may launch two to three phones in September this year, given the company's history of unveiling its new phones on that particular month.

It said the iPhone 7 may have a 4.7-inch screen while the iPhone 7 Plus may have 5.5 inches of display.

As for the battery, Macworld UK said it "may be a little better, but it won't be a lot better."

Recently, ValueWalk quoted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities who sent a memo to investors saying that Apple will move directly to iPhone 7 without plans to introduce an iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus.

In the memo, Kuo mentioned the introduction of the Force Touch sensor in the iPhone 7. "We believe that iPhone's Force Touch sensor doesn't directly detect the pressure applied by fingers," Kuo wrote, according to ValueWalk. "Instead, it monitors the contact area on which the finger touches the screen to decide how big the pressure is."

Kuo added, "There are two possible structural designs for Force Touch from a technology viewpoint. The Force Touch sensor can either be placed between the cover lens and the In-cell touch panel or under the In-cell touch panel's backlight. In the first position, the technological challenge lies with how to produce the transparent Force Touch sensor; in the second position, the challenge is how to reduce signal interference from in-cell touch panel."

Macworld UK said there is a possibility that the iPhone 7 will have higher screen resolution, adding that the rumor of a dual lens camera that will offer DSLR-like quality is "wholly convincing."

"This is a key area for every new iPhone and would be something Tim Cook could build a launch presentation around," the site said.
