'iZombie' season 3 air date, news, & spoilers: First look at Liv as dominatrix; Old, familiar faces back on set for new installment
The premiere of "iZombie" season 3 is still a long way off, but creator Rob Thomas and lead star Rose McIver shared some things to tide over fans' anticipation of the newest installment.
First off, Thomas revealed via his Twitter account that "Veronica Mars" alums Ken Marino and Daran Norris will be back on the set of "iZombie." He posted a photo of himself with the two stars alongside director Enrico Colantoni, executive producer Dan Etheridge, and writer John Enbom. It looks like the two stars will appear on the sixth episode of season 3.
Those who have been following the show since its first season will recall that both have previously appeared on the series. Marino first appeared on season 2 episode 18 titled "Dead Beat" as Brandt Stone, a lawyer. Norris, on the other hand, played the role of Johnny Frist in show's pilot episode and came back to reprise his role in episode 11 of season 1 titled "Astroburger." He later on appeared in episode 16 of the second season, which was titled "Pour Some Sugar, Zombie."
Meanwhile, Rose McIver, who plays the role of Liv Moore, recently shared a photo of her look as a dominatrix on her Instagram account. Check out the post below:
At the San Diego Comic-Con last July, cast members teased details about the upcoming installment, and McIver gamely shared that she will be consuming a dominatrix's brain in one of season 3's episodes. As fans know, zombies on the show adapt the "personality" of the brains they consume, which is what will happen to Liv.
Thomas teased that McIver's impression of a female dom is expectedly perfect. However, it looks like Liv's transformation will take a toll on Ravi (Rahul Kohli) whom, according to reports, Liv will electrocute with wires.
As for the premise of "iZombie" season 3, it looks like there's a looming zombie war on the horizon, with a new exclusively-for-zombies-only hangout serving as a front for the zombie "military operations." It remains to be seen how Liv and Major (Robert Buckley) will figure into the impending war that Vivian (Andrea Savage) is cooking.
"iZombie" season 3 is expected to drop in midseason of 2017 on The CW.
