Zombies are real, thinking, brain-eating creatures in "iZombie" which premiered at 9/8c on Tuesday on CW. The pilot episode focused on the life of Liv Moore (Rose McIver) and her subsequent undead existence where she transformed into a zombie crime fighter.

Liv started off as a successful doctor on the verge of a marrying her fiancé Major (Robert Buckley). Action started when she was invited to a party on a boat by her co-worker. Though initially hesitant, she was persuaded to go by her fiancé. In the party, however, many of the attendees turned out to be zombies who attacked the living ones to feast on their brains. Liv managed to escape but was cornered by zombie drug dealer Anders (Blaine DeBeers) who created a drug called Utopium and he attacked her.

Injured, she fell overboard and then woke up as a zombie in a body bag.

The show then went five months down the line to show Liv working at the morgue and stealing the brains from cadavers to eat them. However, she was caught by her boss Ravi (Rahul Kohli) who informed her that he understood her condition and was hopeful of curing it.

Then Detective Babinaux (Malcolm Goodwin) arrived in the morgue to find out details about a Jane Doe who was murdered. Liv, who had eaten Jane's brains, experienced flashes of what she had done before her death which caused the detective to become suspicious. But Ravi quickly claimed that she was a psychic. Liv managed to provide Babinaux with a lead to the case, but this led them nowhere. They then understood that Jane, whose real name was Tatiana (Alexandra Voicu), was murdered by a man who threw her out of a window.

This led to the discovery that Babinaux's supervisor was the murderer. Liv then saved Babinaux by taking the bullet meant for him. Since she was already undead, she survived the gunshot. She then killed the murderer.

Finally, Liv came to the conclusion that her identity was tied to being a zombie and she reconnected with her family. She then had another flashback courtesy of the brains she just consumed and realized that its owner had been killed by the zombie drug maker who was responsible for her transformation.
