'Jane the Virgin' season 3 episode 12 spoilers, news: Jane to make a bold move in her career; more flashbacks of Michael to come

Jane (Gina Rodriguez) might be making a bold decision in terms of her career as a writer, but there's no guarantee that it will go well. Meanwhile, the showrunner confirms there will be more flashbacks of Michael (Brett Dier) on the show.

On episode 12 of "Jane the Virgin" season 3, Jane will be moving forward with her life by contemplating the next move she will make in her career.

The synopsis for the upcoming episode mentions that "When Jane is offered a book deal, she thinks her prayers have been answered and debates quitting her awful publishing job."

Life hasn't been too kind on Jane after Michael passed away three years ago, and now, Mateo (Madison Rojas) has been having attitude problems in school. Maybe this big break is what Jane needs to finally feel good about herself and her life.

Executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Michael's death brought a big change on Jane's development as a parent and as a writer.

"She's had to just incorporate this pain and loss into her persona, into who she is, and I think her ideas of romance and fairytales are really shifted as a result," Urman explained.

But even though Jane is on her own, Michael will return to her in flashbacks, and fans will still be able to feel the love that he and Jane had for each other. "Definitely bringing Brett back. And there will be things that you hadn't seen before, and there will be things that you have," Urman confirms.

Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) will be repairing the damage on the Marbella's reputation after Scott's (Wes Armstrong) remains were found on the shore. Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil) will also try to fix their friendship, but a secret that has come out might make their situation irreparable on the show's episode 12.
