'Jane the Virgin' season 3 episode 14 spoilers: Jane fights Petra for room mom position; why did Abby bring Scott's burn book to the police?

When "Jane the Virgin" season 3 returns after its three-week break, Jane (Gina Rodriguez) will be fighting Petra (Yael Grobglas) for the position of room mom in Mateo's school. Meanwhile, there is something mysterious about Abby (Minka Kelly).

When the show returns on March 20, Jane will go head to head with Petra getting the room mom position in their children's school, as seen from the episode promo.

This will be a surprising turn of events since Petra has been helping Jane get into the good graces of the school board and the mothers' association. It appears that the benefit of being room mom has too much value for Jane to just hand it over to Petra. Hopefully, the two will remain friends no matter who gets the position of room mom, and hopefully, they're only having a friendly competition with each other.

Meanwhile, there is something mysterious about Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) now ex-girlfriend, Abby.

Previously on "Jane the Virgin" season 3, it was revealed that Rafael has been dating Abby for a while now, but the show hasn't featured how he met her. Now, Rafael has broken up with Abby, and she ends up taking Scott's (Wes Armstrong) burn book over to Michael's (Brett Dier) partner, Dennis (Christopher Allen).

This makes Abby very suspicious. Her motives of bringing Scott's burn book to the police are unclear, other than the obvious that she wants revenge on Rafael for breaking off their relationship. It is possible that Abby is more involved in Scott's case than the show perceives her to be.

Other than Scott's unofficial murder case and Jane's conflict with Petra, there's the situation of Bruce (Ricardo Chavira) and Xo (Andrea Navedo) getting married soon. However, has Rogelio (Jaime Camil) moved on from Xo?
