Jeremy Lin proved that injuries cannot stop him from performing well for the Brooklyn Nets when he returned to action for the first time after suffering from a strained left hamstring.

The 28-year-old point guard had to sit out of the game for almost six weeks after incurring an injury. He was last seen playing with the Nets against Detroit back on Nov. 2.

While Lin's first game fresh from injury versus the Houston Rockets ended in defeat, Nets' head coach Kenny Atkinson is still glad to see him back on the court. "I was really thrilled," Atkinson stated in the post-game interview posted by News Day. "You usually expect a guy to be a little rusty, but I didn't see that at all. He had great energy and played with good poise. I was just happy he didn't try to do too much."

Lin managed to score 10 points, provide seven assists and three rebounds for a total of 20 minutes that he spent on the court. Though his performance seemed to be a little shaky during the first half of the game, the 6'3" Torrance, CA-native was able to get his groove back in the second half where he got his eight points and five assists.

In a post interview after the game that was reported by New York Post, Lin revealed that he narrowed down everything that he needs to do while watching the team play without him. He revealed that he needs to get the team organized in both ends of the floor and lead the team to have a solid defense and give great shots to improve their offensive play.

When asked about how he felt after his injury, Lin revealed that he felt better than he thought he would. "I don't think my speed is all the way there, so that was an adjustment. My burst of speed or getting by guys isn't completely there yet, he stated. "So you just adjust and figure it out, like, 'What do I do next?' A lot of times that's getting those passes out quicker, or reading angles. I think that'll come back soon. I'm not worried."
