Jeremy Lin news: Lin fills the stat sheet in 101–117 loss to the Warriors
Brooklyn Nets guard Jeremy Lin may be coming off an injury, but he played very well in their game against the Golden State Warriors. He had 10 points, eight rebounds, and a season-high 11 assists in the game, but he could not save his team from a 101–117 defeat. Lin even had two steals and two blocks to fill the stat sheet, and he needed two more rebounds for a triple double. Not bad for a player that was on a minute restriction for the past few games.
Lin and the Nets managed to keep things interesting until the Warriors blew them away in the second half. He was all over the place against the Warriors and he played over 30 minutes for the first time since his return from hamstring injury. So, is his playing time still restricted after the game?
NBC Bay Area has noted that Lin might get a little emotional when they play the Warriors since they were his home team (he grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area), and he also played for them back in the 2010–2011 season before Linsanity struck New York. But Lin doesn't think playing against them would affect him much.
"At this point, not really. It's been so far removed. The first couple times maybe it was a little more emotional, especially at Oracle with all my friends and family. And getting cut — that may have affected me the first year — two years — that I was back. But now not really to be honest," Lin told reporters after the Net's morning shootaround.
The Nets haven't been playing great this season especially with Lin out of the lineup. But now that he's back and running the show, things should get better and Brook Lopez will probably get a lot of easy baskets.
