After getting his own Netflix series, it is expected that Luke Cage (Mike Colter) will be making a comeback in Marvel's "Jessica Jones" for its second season.

"Jessica Jones" executive producer Melissa Rosenberg recently revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the return of Luke Cage in her show is possible. She revealed that there have been no talks just yet between her and "Luke Cage" showrunner Cheo Jodari Coker regarding the likelihood of Colter's character appearing in "Jessica Jones" Season 2.

To note, Luke Cage played an important role in the show's first season as he became a close ally of Jessica (Krysten Ritter) and eventually turned into a lover. It is undeniable that the two characters have a special onscreen chemistry when they are working together, and the fans would love to see the two rekindling their romance. Rosenberg also said that she misses working with Colter in the show and she will be glad to see him come back for Season 2.

As of now, "Luke Cage" is now available for streaming on Netflix, telling the story of the crime-busting hero trying to make Harlem a better place. Meanwhile, there is still no confirmed release for the second season of "Jessica Jones." The rumors are rife that Season 2 will air sometime in 2018, featuring more action-packed sequences and three villains which Jessica will have to face.

For those who would like to see both Jessica and Luke together in action, it was reported that Marvel's plan to put the two heroes along with Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones) in a single show is now happening. Den of Geek reported that "The Defenders" is likely to be released in 2017, one year ahead of "Jessica Jones" Season 2 premiere.

"Jessica Jones" Season 2 is expected to be special especially when it comes to its feminism theme, as it was reported recently that all the upcoming episodes will be handled by female directors. Variety reported Mo Ryan revealed in his recent tweeted that Rosenberg already announced the plan of having all-female directors working on Season 2.
