'Justice League' release date, news: Superman and Batman will argue on who should be the leader
Superman (Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck) have already duked it out in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," but their fight ended abruptly when they found out that their mothers have the same first names (Martha). Okay, there may be a deeper explanation to why Batman decided to help Superman, but the two superheroes eventually decided to move past their differences and work together.
However, it looks like they may get into another fight once Superman comes back from the grave in "Justice League." In an interview with Total Film (via ComicBook.com), Cavill revealed that Superman and Batman were going to have an argument on who should lead the Justice League. "There's pretty much an argument between him and Batman as to who is the leader," he stated.
"Justice League" is supposed to have a more optimistic tone compared to "Man of Steel" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," so the two probably won't be beating each other to a pulp this time around. Jamie Lovett of ComicBook.com has noted that this argument will be more like a banter between two superheroes who share the same goal.
Since Batman is going to bring the group together, he should probably lead them, right? But Superman is Superman. He's practically unstoppable, and they will need his help if they want to defeat a dangerous villain like Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds).
While Batman and Superman "fight" for the right to lead the Justice League, Daniel Ricwulf of Screen Rant made a good point by saying that Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) should be leading the group.
Batman may have years of experience as a crime fighter, but he has never led a group like this. Superman has this clean-cut, Boy Scout image, but he has always worked alone as well. On the other hand, Wonder Woman is the only one with real leadership experience and she's not as impulsive as the two.
"Justice League" is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 17, 2017.
