'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date news update: More hints about sequel found at 'Final Chapter Prologue'; 'KH3' to be ported to Nintendo Switch?
Square Enix is gearing for the release of "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" early next year. It was earlier revealed that the special prologue game chapter will set up the events leading to the much awaited next installment of the franchise, "Kingdom Hearts 3."
Just recently, Kingdom Hearts game director and producer, Tetsuya Nomura, revealed a few hints regarding the hidden messages and easter eggs included in "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue." As reported by IGN, the players would need to be attentive in order to figure out the hidden message. The actions of the game's main protagonist, Sora, will need to be observed as his movements shift from sitting, to standing, and to walking. Those who have already found the secret message will also need to line the hints up and form an illustration, showing the flow of time with the changes in the sky.
Nevertheless, unlocking the secret will be very tricky as the element of surprise must still be present upon the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3" itself. While Square Enix has not yet revealed the new contents of the game, it is rumored that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be featuring new Disney worlds such as "Frozen". "Wreck-it Ralph", "Brave", "Zootopia", "The Jungle Book" and "Toy Story." It is also possible that the Disney-owned "Star Wars" and "Marvel" movie franchises will be in "Kingdom Hearts 3" as well.
It is also reported that Square Enix might apply an episodic style of release for "Kingdom Hearts 3," just like their other game titles from the "Final Fantasy" series. Up to three episodes can be expected, but the game studio has yet to confirm this plan. Meanwhile, there are also rumors that the brand new Nintendo Switch will support "Kingdom Hearts 3," as Square Enix plans to make its upcoming huge game titles portable to the mentioned gaming device.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is expected to be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles sometime in 2017.
