"Kingdom Hearts 3" is one of the most highly-anticipated games for next year, but if the rumors are to be believed, not all fans will get to experience it.

Xbox Store Japan no longer has a listing of "Kingdom Hearts 3," which led gamers to believe that it will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive instead.

The website still displays the same error message when one visits the same link where the game listing was once accessible. If it is a glitch, the store has not fixed it yet.

However, it is being said that it is not an error on the site, but actually a confirmation that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is not coming to the Xbox One.

Interestingly, the official Square Enix website and Microsoft Store tell a completely different story since the game is still listed at both these sites for the Xbox One.

GameRant points out that it is possible "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be released on the PS4 only. This is due to the fact that each and every installment of the hit franchise did not make the jump to the Microsoft console.

Even "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" will only be exclusive to the PS4, which makes exclusivity of "Kingdom Hearts 3" to the said console not all too far-fetched.

In the midst of the mystery and the uproar, Microsoft and Square Enix are tight-lipped on the matter. In fact, there's not a lot of information about the game.

It is reported in the past that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be released by March 2017 although this is yet to be confirmed by Square Enix.

"Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue," which leads up to the story featured in the upcoming installment, was delayed to January 2017. It is a mystery if this will have an effect on the timing of the "Kingdom Hearts 3" release.
