"Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" season 18 is in the middle of a three-week break and won't be back until next month for an exciting new episode, "Motherly Love."

This installment will mark the 400th episode milestone of the long-running crime drama. It is made extra special because lead star Mariska Hargitay will be pulling double duty by starring in it and also directing it.

"Law and Order: SVU" season 18, episode 10 will be the star's fifth time in the history of the series to take the director's seat and the first for this season.

Hargitay's first directing stint in the crime drama was for the season 15 episode, "Criminal Stories." She helmed two more in the season that followed and another two from season 17.

As for her latest directing turn, "Law and Order: SVU" season 18, episode 10 will see a teenage boy come to his mother's aid as she appears to be being assaulted at their own home.

Things take a dark and bloody turn when the young man learns the person he will point his rifle to save his mother is someone he knows very well.

The promo for "Law and Order: SVU" season 18, episode 10 teases that it is her own son's best friend. More so, it looks like his mother and best friend were sleeping together all along.

The clip shows Benson (Hargitay) confronting the mother about what happened. "You're making me uncomfortable," she tells Benson.

After the SVU lieutenant showed to her incriminating evidence of the two in bed together, Benson fires back at her, "You're making me uncomfortable."

As for those who are waiting for the episode inspired by U.S. President Donald Trump, executive producer Dick Wolf said that it is unknown when it will air.

"The episode is an episode that was written nine months ago. I don't know when it's going to air. They'll tell me. I don't control scheduling of individual episodes," he said at the Television Critics Association press tour as quoted by Entertainment Weekly. "I suspect it will be this spring, but I don't know," he went on to say.

"Law and Order: SVU" season 18, episode 10, "Motherly Love," airs Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
