'Left 4 Dead 3' release date, specs news: Third installment to arrive early next year?
"Left 4 Dead 3" has been in the rumor mill for a while now. It was speculated before the month of June that the third installment of the cooperative first-person shooter video game series was going to be announced at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016. However, many fans were disappointed after game developer, Valve Corporation skipped the rumored title at this year's event. Nonetheless, new rumors have quickly emerged following the E3 event suggesting that the highly anticipated sequel will be revealed during the first quarter of 2017.
The upcoming third installment of the franchise has been a favorite subject of several rumors ever since the current game came out in 2009. Six years later, the company still has not provided any solid information about "Left 4 Dead 3."
Nonetheless, MNR Daily reported that fans have continued to stay positive despite the lack of concrete details regarding the development and release date of a new game installment. Players are hoping that Valve will soon announce the game title, which will be followed by an immediate release.
The publication also added that the game developer might have already started the creation of the third installment. There are speculations suggesting that the company is currently working on the project along with the rumored "Half-Life 3."
Meanwhile, Game N Guide reported that the current game of the series, "Left 4 Dead 2" will be included on Xbox One's backward compatibility program. Other games on the list include "Portal 2," "Flashback," "Brain Challenge," and "Babel Rising."
For now, fans can enjoy the game's second installment until the new game gets rolled out early next year. However, fans must take all reports about "Left 4 Dead 3" with a grain of salt until the game developer decides to release an official statement regarding its existence.
