'Left 4 Dead 3' release date, gameplay news: New characters and game campaigns expected?
Fans of the survival horror video game "Left 4 Dead" are still waiting for the day that developer Valve Corporation will announce the third installment. Unfortunately, as of report writing, there is still no official word about it, but that doesn't stop fans from hoping that "Left 4 Dead 3" will be hitting store shelves.
Rumors are rife that the cooperative first-person shooter video game is still a go despite Valve's silence about the matter. Some are holding on to the belief that the tutorial for the Destinations platform which Valve employee Tristan Reidford released is the answer to the question. In the images that Reidford shared, fans were able to spot a folder in his computer titled "left4dead3," indicating that the title is being developed.
It was taken down immediately, though. However, the mark has already been made and now, fans are crossing their fingers that the hint was legit. Many also speculate that Valve has been quiet because they have been busy with their relocation to a new, larger office.
Moreover, there are also rumors going around saying that the purported installment will be featuring new characters and game campaigns. Reports say that Valve will be including four protagonist characters in the rosters and their rumored names are Irvin, Katherine, Garret Jr., and Keenan.
As for the campaigns, it is said that there will be six new ones which include No Mercy, Crashland, Impasse, Cliff Hanger, Inquisitor and Early Destination. It's speculated that the purported campaigns will be both a prequel and sequel to its predecessor, "Left 4 Dead 2," as the game will be set a month after the infection has started to spread.
Reports also say that the gameplay will still be the same from the first two "Left 4 Dead" titles. It will still have its fast-paced and brutal action formula. Improvements to the game are expected, though. There is no specific date yet for the release of "Left 4 Dead 3," but it's predicted to be out by 2017.
