'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 episode 8 spoilers: Legion of Doom tricks the heroes; Stein and Jax's secret to be explored

The Legion of Doom tricks the heroes in the upcoming episode of The CW's hit superhero series "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2.

Titled "The Chicago Way," this week's  episode will see the Legends' enemies become more powerful. According to the official synopsis for episode 8, a new aberration in time has brought the Legends to 1927 Chicago. The heroes immediately realize that they have been tricked by Eobard Thawne (guest star Matt Letscher), Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough), and the latest villain of the Legion of Doom, Malcolm Merlyn (guest star John Barrowman).

While the Legends are trying to solve what they think is the mission, Jax (Franz Drameh) attempts to convince Stein (Victor Garber) to share his secret with the rest of the heroes. Stein is taken captive, making the mission more difficult for the Legends. As their leader, Sara (Caity Lotz) is forced to make a difficult choice between stopping the Legion of Doom or rescuing Stein. Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) struggles to deal with an unexpected visitor.

Last week's episode saw the last leg of The CW's four-way crossover featuring the Legends, Supergirl, The Green Arrow, and The Flash. The episode also saw a major revelation involving Stein's daughter. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Marc Guggenheim shared teasers on how the upcoming episode will explore the secret between Stein and Jax.

"Obviously 'Legends' works differently than 'Arrow,' where 'Arrow' is all about people keeping secrets and secrets coming out and causing strife," he said. "We're setting up 'Legends'' midseason finale, where the ramifications of that secret come into play — they'll come into play in a way that's a little different than your question presumes," the EP went on to say. Either way, he assured fans that there will be more of Stein's daughter in the next few episodes.

The second season of "Legends of Tomorrow" airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
