'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 updates: What the Justice Society crossover would mean for the Legends
The CW's DC shows are almost simultaneously going on a regular hiatus before coming back on TV for their next respective seasons. One of them is "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" or simply "Legends of Tomorrow" whose season ender had a nicely smooth finish particularly with the introduction of Rex "Hourman" Tyler, who bore with him a dreadful warning directed to the Legends. Fans are wondering about the surprises that the Justice Society's involvement with the Legends might give rise to.
"Legends of Tomorrow" season 1 exceeded expectations and made it a point to surprise its audiences. The series is said to be just as promising, if not even better, in its season two especially with the crossover with the Justice Society of America, as per confirmation by executive producer Marc Guggenheim during his interview with The Hollywood Reporter. This only steers the action-adventure superhero show toward the limitless possibilities to be explored in its second season. This makes the wait for the upcoming season more exciting for fans.
A precursor to the Justice League, the Justice Society became the counterpart of Justice League in the parallel world called Earth-2.
With "Legends of Tomorrow" being essentially anchored on the heroes' travel across time, the development of the upcoming plotline will depend on where the Justice Society is from: Earth-2 or Earth 1's future. The Legends' crossover to Earth-2 is easy to imagine since viewers had a glimpse of Earth-2 in "The Flash," which means that there is a whole wide parallel universe for the Legends to explore.
Another avenue to take on for the storyline is that perhaps the Justice Society to be assembled with the Legends is actually from the future, and this could be the reason why Hourman himself arrived on the Waverider and why he claimed to have been sent as a messenger by Mick Rory.
From wherever the Justice Society might be and in whichever way its members might cross paths with the "Legends of Tomorrow" characters, what is certain is that the two superhero teams' impending ambitious merge in terms of dimensions and new adventure plot will bring the show to greater heights.
The time-hopping series will return to The CW later this year.
