LG Tone Infinim Bluetooth Headphone Review: Device Features Retractable Buds, Strong Battery

Are you looking for the perfect Bluetooth headphone?

You may want to try LG's Tone Infinim Bluetooth headphone, which features retractable earbuds and offers decent sound and a strong battery life that can last up to 14 hours.

It's a pretty decent wireless and lightweight headphone with the around-the-neck design that puts the buttons in places where they should be, CNET's David Carnoy said in a review.

Like other LG Tone models, the headphone's around-the-neck design is so lightweight that it makes you forget sometimes that you're wearing it, particularly if you wear it around the collar of a button-down dress shirt, the review noted.

This is probably the main reason why the product is doing shockingly well in the market, topping NPD's bestselling wireless headphones list.

But this does not necessarily mean the around-the-neck design will fit everyone equally well. If you have a bigger neck, you might find it less comfortable.

Though the earbuds fit comfortably and securely in the ears, it would not be a good idea to run with this since the product isn't water resistant. But it will work fine in the gym for lighter exercises.

The retractable pair of earbuds is the key new feature of LG Tone Infinim, which has buds that you won't notice at first since they have the automatic retraction feature that keeps them attached to the headphone magnetically if not in use.

Each side of the neckband has a button that, when pressed, reels the thin cable back in – a pretty nifty feature.

It would take you a while to get to know the button placements for pause and play, volume control, answering and ending calls and skipping tracks forward and back.

But once you do, you'll find them to be well-placed, making it easy to operate by feel alone.

The LG Tone Infinim HBS-900, with audio by Harman Krdon, also offers some extra nice features like vibrate alert when a call comes in or you're straying too far from your phone.

Even with its all-plastic design, LG Tone Infinim is a little sturdier than some of the step-down Tone models. Some people though prefer the less-rigid feel of the Tone Ultra HBS-800, which is even lighter.

It's more expensive than other LG Tone stereo Bluetooth headsets, but the retractable earbud feature is nifty and will be worth the extra cost for a lot of people.

The headphone cost about $150 (£110 in the UK, AU$229 in Australia) , but it can be had online for a little over $100.
