It appears the Los Angeles Lakers are already looking for a new superstar to come to the team as rumors are linking Paul George to a move to Hollywood.

According to Inquisitr, the Lakers are one of two teams who are looking to sign George. The other team in the conversation is the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Despite these links, nothing has materialized at the moment, but the Lakers need to step up their game if they wish to land George this or next season.

For the Lakers, they will have to trade some of their younger talents if they wish to land an All-Star like George.

At the moment, the Lakers are rebuilding and putting their hopes on young stars like D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, and rookie Brandon Ingram.

While the set-up may be for the future, the Lakers want to stop dragging along the bottom of the Western Conference, and being one of the biggest markets in the league, they will likely still opt for a "win now" scenario.

This is why rumors like George being linked is so consistent to the team. The fanbase that the Lakers have is an extremely impatient one and is used to winning.

Having George will definitely help their cause as the 26-year-old has proven to be an important commodity in his first six years in the league.

George is a three-time NBA All-Star and averages 16.9 points per game while shooting 43 percent from the field.

He is also dead-on from beyond the arc as George converts 36 percent of his shots from deep.

Last year was George's breakout year as he led the Pacers by playing 81 games and averaging a career high 23.1 points per game while playing just under 35 minutes.

He is about to enter the prime of his playing career, so if George does not get the success in Indiana, he is likely to move elsewhere.
