'Lucifer' season 2 episode 3 spoilers: Mama Lucifer may have a hidden agenda
There could be an enemy in Lucifer Morningstar's (Tom Ellis) midst and he may have just started to trust her. But it turns out that Mama Lucifer (Tricia Helfer) couldn't be trusted after all.
Whatever reason she may have in attempting to win his son's affection back, didn't seem to have as much to do with her maternal duties as it did with her own personal agenda. Could she be mounting a reprisal on God by using his favorite son against him? Or was she really telling the truth when she told Lucifer the reason why he was cast out to Hell? It may take the entire season to figure out who the real villain is.
In the meantime, Lucifer and his work partner Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) must continue working together despite their conflicting opinions to hunt down a serial killer who seems to be posting videos of his crimes online.
Meanwhile, both Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Lucifer's brother, Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), seem to be falling into quite dependent relationships with Lucifer's therapist, Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris). Will the good doctor finally figure out the real deal about his three conflicted clients this season? And what's up with Amenadiel and his deteriorating wings?
The next episode of "Lucifer" titled "Sin-Eater" will also see Mama Lucifer stepping into the life of the woman she had possessed. Charlotte Richards, the owner of a high-end law firm in Beverly Hills, will be coming back home to her family.
In an interview with TV Guide, Helfer said Mama Lucifer will have to learn to deal with Charlotte's husband and their children. She will also have to come to terms with the fact that she's dealing with humans now.
"And ultimately, I suppose she has to get back to work," Helfer added. "In a way, work may be an escape from the house life she has to deal with, which she hugely detests," she said.
The "Battlestar Galactica" alumnus also hinted at the impending arrival of her other son, Uriel, and how his addition to the narrative will affect their overall family dynamic.
Here is a preview of the upcoming episode of "Lucifer" which will air on Monday, Oct. 10, at 9 p.m. EDT on FOX.
