MacBook Air 2016 release date, specs news: MacBook Pro 2016 will replace MacBook Air as Apple's flagship laptop?
Despite contradicting reports with regard to the release of another MacBook Air, Apple fans refuse to give up and still hope that the Cupertino based company will launch another model of the popular laptop line. However, the absence of the MacBook Air 2016 at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 could indicate that Apple has finally decided to discontinue the series.
The MacBook Air once dominated the laptop market for several years. However, it has been reported many times that fans have already lost its interest towards the device because of its lack of improvement every time the company releases a new model.
Nonetheless, there are still fans who believe that Apple will soon roll out a much improved MacBook Air in the future.
Previous reports suggested that Apple has already shifted their focus on its alleged new flagship laptop, the MacBook Pro 2016. Apparently, Apple will replace the MacBook Air series with MacBook Pro as the face of the company in terms of portable computers.
According to a report by Yibada, the new MacBook Pro 2016 will mirror the design of MacBook Air, which is thinner and lighter. The new flagship laptop will also come out with Intel's current Skylake processor. There are rumors circulating that Apple may delay the release of MacBook Pro as they wait for the next generation processor, the Kabylake; however, this has yet to be confirmed by the company.
Other features of the device include USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, etc.
Previous reports also said that the laptop will come in two variants—the 13-inch and 15-inch models.
Meanwhile, Christian Daily reported that MacBook Air could still be possible as rumors are still rampant. According to the publication, the device will arrive with a 15-inch size. It will also carry a retina display technology as well as a USB Type-C port.
These reports are merely just rumors and speculations. Fans will have to wait for the company to provide solid details with regard to MacBook Air 2016.
