Since Apple did not reveal any updates about the MacBook Air 2016 during the iPhone 7 launch, there have been various rumors circulating about the upcoming device. Though the tech giant has yet to announce the launch date, Apple junkies are convinced that the MacBook Air 2016 will be released by the end of October this year.

In a report by Bloomberg Technology, the news outlet claims that Apple plans to unveil its new Mac laptops on Oct. 27. However, the Macbook Air 2016 wont be the only big news in the said event. The rumored next-generation Macbook Pro and the new version of the iMac will reportedly be showcased during the event.

Over the years, there has not been any major design changes in the MacBook Air. However, rumors about the next-generation device say it will feature a more powerful machine encased in a slick design. The same report alleges that the MacBook Air will not have significant high-end features except for its multi-functional USB type C port technology. Nevertheless, the device is important in the presentation of the lineup since it is Apple's most affordable computer.

Other rumors, although unlikely to happen, suggest that Touch ID fingerprint recognition might be one of the features of the new MacBook Air. Another rumor suggests that it will feature the virtual personal assistant called Siri, which could also appear on the Macbook Pro.

Furthermore, the new Macbook Air is expected to be thinner and lighter compared to its predecessors. If rumors are true, Skylake processors will power the new Air device which could provide much faster graphics compared to the Broadwell processors.

Although no one is really sure as to the actual specs of the forthcoming MacBook Air 2016, these rumors are somewhat valid if Apple is really serious about keeping the MacBook Air on its shelves. If the MacBook Air 2016 is revealed on the Oct. 27 event, then Apple junkies will be treated to more updates.
