MacBook Pro 2016 release date, news, specs rumors: Latest Mac Pro to be released on Oct. 27, to sport slimmer design
Earlier this year, rumors claim the next iteration of the MacBook Pro will make an appearance in the third or last quarter of 2016. However, Apple has remained quiet for the past several years regarding their plans to refresh the said MacBook variant. After the September Apple Event for the iPhone 7 smartphone and Apple Watch Series 2, it is now speculated that the Cupertino-based tech giant will be having another end this October that will focus on the company's laptop products.
According to Mac World, the next Apple Event will be held on Oct. 27. If last month featured the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the full version of the iOS 10, the October press event will highlight the company's latest MacBook offerings, including the 2016 Mac Pro. Specifically, the event is rumored to unveil two variants of the MacBook Pro 2016, the 13-inch model and the larger 15-inch size variant. Both of these MacBook Pro models will feature the first Macbook OLED display and touch bar on top of the keyboard. This feature will allow the laptop users to switch from one application to another more easily.
One of the interesting changes that the Mac followers might see in the MacBook Pro 2016 is the transparent keys. As reported by University Herald, Apple has signed a deal with Sonder to provide the most advanced keyboard technology for the next iteration of the MacBook Pro. While it is not confirmed if the Macbook Pro 2016 will sport the exact features of the popular Sonder keyboards, it can be expected that the new Mac Pro will have an improved dynamic keyboard functions.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be the thinnest MacBook model yet from Apple. The laptop is designed to appear slimmer and lighter compared to its predecessors. For one, the MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to use the smaller USB Type-C ports to give the laptop its slim appearance.
