MacBook Pro Touch Bar news, reviews: Airmail app receives Touch Bar support; laptop receives poor rating
The rumors were true about Apple's MacBook Pro Touch Bar feature. As previously announced, only a few apps will have the Touch Bar support when it launches. One of the first apps to receive an upgrade is Airmail. But is the latest MacBook Pro upgrade as good as they say it is?
According to Forbes, the Airmail update was released on Tuesday. For those who own a 13-inch or 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar features, the upgrade is pretty significant. The news outlet stressed that the update came with important fixes. Update 3.2 also introduced support for the dynamic touch strip of the latest laptop unit.
When Apple junkies are done installing the update, they can start creating shortcuts and actions for the Airmail app. Users simply need to click View and select the Customize Touch Bar option. Accessing the setting will produce the customization window for the particular app, wherein users can drag the buttons for the Touch Bar feature. Once accomplished, users can click Done to save the settings.
According to 9To5Mac, with Touch Bar support, MacBook Pro owners can enjoy creating new messages with Airmail, archiving, responding to emails, forwarding, deleting, and more. Users can also utilize the shortcuts to print, move, or label an email.
In a review by iFixit, a tech company that mainly troubleshoots and repairs devices, the MacBook Pro with Touch bar got a 1 out of 10 score for reparability. The company believes that once broken, this particular laptop will not be easy to repair, compared to other Pro laptops. Although the device is thinner, lighter, and faster compared to its preceding unit, the latest MacBook Pro will not be easy to repair once busted.
Airmail update 3.2 to is available to download for free, given that MacBook Pro users have purchased the $9.99 app from the Mac App Store.
