The team investigates a young man's death on the upcoming episode of "Major Crimes" season 5.

Titled "Cleared History," next week's episode will feature a case involving a victim who seems to have a lot of enemies. According to the official synopsis, Major Crimes discovers the body of a young man lying in the middle of his Atwater living room with his throat slashed. While they gather new pieces of evidence, the team suspects the young man's roommate and some unwitting customers. It turns out that the victim is a "one-man-geek-squad," and he is notorious for blackmailing many people.

Series creator James Duff recently spoke with TV Line, and he mentioned that episode 15 explores one of their "darkest dark cases ever." He also revealed more teasers about the upcoming episodes, including an hour featuring a corpse "found 40 feet up a tree in Griffith Park."

Additionally, "Pretty Little Liars" alum Keegan Allen is slated to guest star as Gus' (Rene Rosado) boss. Rusty (Graham Patrick Martin) considers him as a threat to his relationship, and it might lead to some friction between the two characters. Sykes (Kearran Giovanni) and Hickman (Jason Gedrick) will meet in the courtroom again, while Dr. Morales (Jonathan Del Arco) puts on a show when his dad, who lives in South Africa, drops by to visit.

In an interview with Parade, Duff gave more details about the episode featuring Dr. Morales' father. He hinted that the upcoming hour will be a bit lighter than the usual episodes, as it will see a different side of the quirky character.

"There's a really fun episode where we find a body up a tree and Dr. Morales appears with his father, a retired detective who's visiting from South America, who pretends that he is much more connected to Major Crimes than he actually is, and hangs on through the whole episode. I think that's a fun episode. If you like Dr. Morales, you're going to enjoy it," Duff said.

The fifth season of "Major Crimes" airs every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
