'Mass Effect: Andromeda' news updates and details: BioWare reveals details about the game's cooperative multiplayer mode

Game developer BioWare revealed more details about its upcoming role-playing, third-person-shooting video game, "Mass Effect: Andromeda," which is already slated for a March 2017 release for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4).

BioWare explained more about the game's cooperative multiplayer mode, including how it relates to the single-player mode, since the two are apparently connected. As to how the two modes are exactly connected, BioWare is not revealing much.

The developer did however confirm that mission funds that are earned in multiplayer have "tendrils going out into the rest of the game."

Furthermore, the developer's goal is to not force players who want a single-player experience to venture out into multiplayer mode. Producer Fabrice Condominas says that players "will have possibilities to send teams to complete kind of side missions, or to do it yourself in multiplayer."

Compared to "Mass Effect 3," "Andromeda" will be more challenging in a sense that they will throw more enemy types until a player is forced out for cover. "The first thing everyone will notice is how dynamic it is," Condominas explained. "Everything is more fluid, fast-paced, there's a lot of action going on. The controls are also more responsive. All of that is on purpose; we really wanted to increase the dynamism and how accessible it is while retaining the depth and going more into layers."

The developers also thought of incorporating blind card packs when it comes to acquiring new items in the game. This means that players will rely on randomly revealed weapons and character kits.

"If you don't want to be at the mercy of the random number generator for the cards, you're still at the mercy of what's in the store right now, but it's like, 'Oh, that's the Black Widow and I really want it!'" BioWare's Ian Frazier said. "You can buy them with real-world money if you want to, but again, nothing requires that."

BioWare will also debut gameplay footages from "Mass Effect: Andromeda" in the upcoming Game Awards on Dec. 1.
