'Mass Effect: Andromeda' release date, gameplay news: devs will not include some aliens from the trilogy

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is probably one of the most awaited games for next year. Though it is incorporated with several elements from the original trilogy, developers admitted that fans might not see some alien race from the previous "Mass Effect" titles.

In an exclusive report of Game Informer about the upcoming game, creative director Mac Walters revealed that some known alien race might not show up. Walters said, "We've designed the IP in such a way that they can all show up. For hopefully obvious reasons, they're not all going to show up in the first game."

However, Walters did not disclose which alien race will reappear and which will not.

On a lighter note, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will most likely be introducing new characters to the game so players will not miss their favorite alien race so much. As iTechPost reported, there is a pretty good list of new characters to join the game, some were introduced already while some were known through game info leaks.

For starters, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will introduce new lead playable characters. Players can choose to either play as Sara or Scott Ryder. Besides that, there is an expected new Pathfinder to be introduced as well together with a new squad mate named Drack. A new lone-wolf named Peebee will be introduced, as well as a police officer named Liam.

Alongside the new protagonists, there will also be a new set of enemies, one of whom is called Kett. However, the Guardians of Kett are not in good terms, as per the same iTechPost report. So, players of the game will have the chance to choose whether they want to be on the side of the good Kett or be on the darker side and be a dictator to the Kett.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is slated to release on March 2017. BioWare, the developer of the game, has not yet divulged the specific schedule but two separate leaks similarly pointed to a March 21, 2017 release.
