'Mass Effect Andromeda' release date: Ryder patriarch's role teased; technology on suits and exploration detailed
BioWare has kept itself mum about "Mass Effect Andromeda" ever since it was revealed in June, but the silent treatment will end next month at the N7 Day.
Since the annual event is dedicated to the "Mass Effect" franchise, it is expected that the important details about the game will be revealed there.
Franchise producer Michael Gamble took to Twitter to tease that they are planning what to show at N7 Day and that the idea of that itself already excites him.
Much about "Mass Effect Andromeda" has been kept under wraps, but it is looking like BioWare is about to unload some exciting revelations at the event.
Before the N7 Day, BioWare creative director Mac Walters revealed during an interview with Red Bull a bit more about the worlds, the characters and the design that gamers will find in "Mass Effect Andromeda."
As revealed before, the game will be a family affair with the Ryder siblings as protagonists and their father popping up here and there. Fans can expect the Ryder patriarch to rescue his children when in need.
Walters also revealed that the suit players will wear in "Mass Effect Andromeda" will be equipped with a scanner that will give them information on the alien life forms they come across.
The creative director also said that BioWare focused a bit more on the exploration side of the game. "We want you to enjoy spending time in these worlds," Walters said.
"Andromeda is not just about planet-hopping from one combat zone to the next, but real and meaningful exploration. We want to wake up this little scientist and diplomat in you that is interested in getting to know these races, how their societies operate and how their tech works," he added.
"Mass Effect Andromeda" will be released in March 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and personal computer (PC). High Dynamic Range (HDR) support will be available on both the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One S.
