Meizu M5 Note release date, specs news: Includes 5.5-inch display, Android Marshmallow, octa-core processor
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu is gearing up to release a new device in its homeland. Dubbed M5 Note, the device is going to debut next week.
According to reports, the M5 Note will be unveiled on Tuesday, Dec. 6, alongside the Meizu X smartphone. The company has already sent out invites and also released a teaser which showed a real-life image of the smartphone.
As for the specs and features, reports detailed that the Meizu M5 Note will be sporting a 5.5-inch full-HD (1,080 × 1,920 pixels) display. It's also said to come in three variants with model numbers M621C, M621M and M621Q. The M621Q is the most long-lasting as it will be packed with a 4,000 mAh battery while the other two will have the same 3,920 mAh battery.
Aside from that, the M5 Note is also said to carry under its hood an octa-core Mediatek MT6755M Helio P10 processor. It will come with a Mali-T860 GPU and will run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box. Its RAM count is 3 GB while its native storage capacity can be 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB. Gadgets 360 noted that the device can get more space via its microSD card slot which can go up to 128 GB.
As for the camera features, the device is purported to be installed with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Moreover, the device is said to measure 8.5 millimeters and weighs 175 grams. It will sport a metal unibody with round edges. Two color options are available, black and white.
A fingerprint scanner will also be incorporated in the home button. Connectivity options include WiFi, 4G LTE, GPS, Bluetooth and a microUSB port. Those who are interested to pick up the device will have to stay tuned for more updates including the availability and price.
