Memphis Grizzlies trade rumors 2016: Stephenson may play overseas

After bursting to the National Basketball Association with his tough mentality and aggressive attitude, it appears that Lance Stephenson may have to move his talents overseas for the coming season.

The former Memphis Grizzlies guard is currently out of a contract and with the Grizzlies not renewing their terms with Stephenson, "Born Ready" is finding a tough time looking for a new home.

Boston Globe mentioned that playing overseas may be the only option for Stephenson as he is still young and is still a good player who can make a career abroad.

CBS Sports also reported the same and is still searching for why Stephenson was not picked up by the Grizzlies despite having a decent season with the Western Conference team.

Starting the first part of the season with the Los Angeles Clippers, Stephenson had trouble finding his role in the team, with his numbers dropping down, only averaging 4.7 points per game.

He was sent over to the Grizzlies and played 26 games, seemingly finding new life at Memphis as he set a career high in scoring by netting 14.2 points per game despite only playing 26 minutes per game.

Stephenson also shot 47 percent from the field, which is a little higher than his career average of 45 per cent.

And it remains a mystery that despite working out with the Grizzlies, Stephenson finds himself out of a job in the NBA.

It may be an internal issue with the team, but for Stephenson, it is best for him to try and use this as motivation to be better and to become more mature overseas.

After spending a year or two abroad, he will enter his peak where he can return to the NBA and get a team who would use him to his full potential.

Fans should expect more news and updates on Stephenson in the coming days.
