As of press time, the Miami Heat are 10 games into the new season and things have gotten to a very rough start. This was slightly expected since the Heat are in a transition at the moment. They are without their experience because their old core has moved on.

They are looking at young stars to try and carry the team but with a 2-8 start, things are not sitting well with the Florida franchise.

Rumors are now circulating again that Goran Dragic may be on his way out of the team after some statements made by Miami Heat President Pat Riley.

There have been past links to move Dragic before, but it has always been shut down to show everyone the Heat had faith in the point guard. However, things have been slightly different and in a statement made by Riley, it appears that Dragic may not be in their plans.

In an interview with David Aldridge, Riley mentioned that he understood that the team is still rebuilding, and he believed that they have a young core that could make things work.

He mentioned names like Hassan Whiteside, Justise Winslow and Tyler Johnson to make a young core in the Heat locker, and also mentioned that he intended to use his picks to get the right person needed to make things work.

Interestingly enough, the statement did not mention Dragic in any way.

Dragic looked good this year, averaging 16.3 points and 5.9 assists per game in the first seven games of the year. Unfortunately, he got injured and now his future is uncertain again.

Dragic has a deal with the Heat until the 2019-20 season and is set to earn $15.9 million this year. If the Heat do not have plans of keeping him in the long run, then it is probably the best time to move him while he still has a lot of value in the market.

It is possible that the Heat will try to get someone from the draft. With the way they are going at the moment, they might get a lottery pick down the line.
