Michael Schumacher health condition update 2016: F1 icon's condition worsens, friends and family pray for his recovery
It has been two years since F1 legend Michael Schumacher suffered a terrible accident while skiing in the Alps, and his condition is still shrouded in mystery.
News Everyday claims that a source divulged new details on Schumacher's condition, and his health status seemed to have worsened. According to the outlet's source, a neurosurgeon revealed that the legend's last hope for survival lies on a miracle.
Last February, Schumacher's manager and spokesperson Sabine Kehm attended an exhibition in Marburg, Germany. In a rare appearance, she talked about the F1 legend, mentioning that his achievements should never be forgotten. "He is the most successful driver in history and sometimes, on days like this, it is good to be reminded of it," she stated via Telegraph. "Of course, Michael is not here and of course, we miss him. We know what has happened and cannot change it. We must accept it and hope with everything we have that with continued support and patience he will one day be back with us. Racing was his life and no one would have liked to have been here more than him."
Early this year, Kehm shared that the legend is slowly and steadily making progress, but she was quick to deny the reports claiming that he is walking again. "We are happy to say still he does improvement and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had," she explained. "But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight."
Previous reports claimed that Schumacher is unable to speak and has memory issues. He is also said to be paralysed, which led him to be confined in a wheelchair. FIA president and close friend Jean Todt stated November last year that Schumacher is "still fighting," asking everyone to remain positive for the F1 icon.
