Microsoft Surface AIO PC release date rumors: PC variant to arrive at beginning of third quarter?
In addition to the rumored hybrid devices and a flagship smartphone, Microsoft is said to be working on a new all-in-one (AIO) PC, which is currently dubbed as Microsoft Surface AIO. According to tech experts, the upcoming computer will likely arrive at the beginning of the third quarter of this year.
According to a report by Digitimes, Microsoft is planning to develop a 2-1 device that would give consumers the alternative computer to get if they could not wait for the arrival of the Surface Book 2. It's pretty much a marketing strategy for the American software giant to make sure their customers will not consider brands like Apple and Lenovo. Apparently, Microsoft would like to tighten up the competition.
There are reports that AIO PC has been on decline in terms of global sales; however, its numbers are still considerably high compared to desktop sales. According to the Digitimes, Shipment of AIO PCs decreased from 14 million units to 12.6 million this year. Microsoft is hoping that the market will positively change a bit after they release the new Surface AIO PC.
Meanwhile, the release of the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Book 2 is still uncertain. Although there are speculations suggesting that the device will come out in 2017, Microsoft has yet to confirm it. Fans are getting a little bit impatient with all the contradicting reports. They are hoping that the company will provide concrete details with regard to its development and release date anytime soon.
Apparently, hardware and software issues have been causing the delay. There are rumors circulating that the device will finally come out in March next year, just in time for the next generation Intel processor, the Kaby Lake. The device is also expected to come out with a pre-installed Windows 10 Redstone 2, which is currently in the works.
As of the moment, Microsoft has yet to confirm the release date of the new Surface all-in-one (AIO) PC.
